Richard A. Gonzalez
Richard A. Gonzalez is an Associate with Olivarez Madruga. Mr. Gonzalez’s practice focuses on education law, municipal law, as well as general litigation. Mr. Gonzalez has experience representing school districts and county offices of education in matters involving special education, student issues, labor and employment, and charter school issues, including but not limited to, charter petition reviews, Proposition 39 school facilities allocations, and Charter Schools Act litigation. Mr. Gonzalez has extensively advised on the California Public Records Act, Brown Act, Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), and student disciplinary issues. Prior to attending law school, Mr. Gonzalez coordinated an after-school program for 100 students where he supervised and trained five program leaders to implement the curricula, provide academic tutoring, physical education, and enrichment learning.
