Marisa I. Montenegro
Marisa I. Montenegro is an Associate with Olivarez Madruga Lemieux O’Neill. Ms. Montenegro’s practice focuses primarily on special education law. Ms. Montenegro has worked with various school districts in Los Angeles and Orange County focusing on special education matters, resolution sessions, due process hearings, the Public Records Act, the Brown Act, as well as human resource matters. Ms. Montenegro holds a Master’s Degree in Special Education, as well as a teaching credential in special education mild/moderate. Ms. Montenegro has experience in social security disability and supplemental security income law representing both adults and children with special needs. During law school, Ms. Montenegro earned a certificate in Children’s Rights Law and participated in the onsite special education clinic, as well as participating in a juvenile clinic on weekends. Prior to attending law school, Ms. Montenegro worked as a special education teacher implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for special needs students. Ms. Montenegro is currently a member of the advisory board for the Rio Hondo Pathway to Law School Program.
