OMLO is pleased to share that Founding and Managing Partner Rick R. Olivarez, an ardent and longtime supporter of the nonprofit White Memorial Medical Center in Los Angeles, will serve as Co-Chair of the White Memorial Charitable Foundation’s annual gala. Co-Chairing this important fundraising event with Rick is Dr. David C. Lizárraga, Founder and Chairman of the TELACU Education Foundation.
The gala will take place at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel on Sunday, October 23, 2022, and will recognize Congresswoman Lucille Roybal-Allard, Rick’s mother, for her 30 years of service as a member of the U.S. House of Representatives. Congresswoman Roybal-Allard is retiring later this year after a distinguished career that saw her achieve many firsts, including being the first democratic Mexican-American woman elected to Congress, the first Latina to serve as one of the 12 “cardinals”, or chairs, of a House Appropriations Subcommittee, and the first Latina to serve on the House Appropriations Committee. She is also the first woman to chair the Congressional Hispanic Caucus; the first woman to chair the California Democratic congressional delegation; and the founder of the Women’s Working Group on Immigration Reform.
The White Memorial Charitable Foundation develops and sustains the philanthropic relationships that fund critical medical services through the White Memorial Medical Center. Rick has served on the Foundation’s Board for 14 years.
