OMLO is seeking a Senior/Partner level attorney to oversee our education law practice. Experience dealing with public school personnel issues, layoffs, negotiations and general education law a plus. The position requires the ability to deal with Board Members, and operate as a general legal counsel. Strong communication and leadership skills necessary.

The Salary for this position will range between $175k-$225k. The actual salary will be commensurate with the number of years of practice and relevant experience on the skillset sought. The firm also offers a year-end hours bonus for attorneys that make their hours and demonstrate exceptional performance throughout the year. OMLO is seeking a Special Education lawyer well-versed in Special Education and Student Services for school districts. Must have experience attending IEP meetings on behalf of clients, discipline law and experience with due process complaints. Candidates must possess excellent research, writing, organizational, and communication skills. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to work both cooperatively with others and independently, as circumstances demand, and must show a strong ability to take initiative, problem solve, and follow through on projects. This is a client-facing role that will involve a lot of client interaction.

OMLO is seeking a senior attorney with 8-10 years of public agency experience to join our firm.

open close Municipal Attorney

OMLO is seeking a municipal law attorney with 3-7 years’ experience representing public entities. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to take on complex legal matters and work in a high-paced environment, have good writing skills, and have the ability to take initiative as well as the ability to work collaboratively with agency staff and elected officials. Applicants must demonstrate a working knowledge of the Brown Act, the Public Records Act, Conflict of Interest law, election laws, and public contracting. Knowledge and experience working in land use, zoning, CEQA and the Surplus Lands Act or in cannabis is a plus. Ideal candidates will have experience working with public bodies and demonstrate effective communication skills.

The salary range for a 3+ year attorney meeting these qualifications is $135,00-$185,000. The actual salary will be commensurate with the number of years of practice and relevant experience on the skillset sought. The firm also offers a year-end hours bonus for attorneys that make their hours and demonstrate exceptional performance throughout the year. OMLO seeks mid-level (5-10 year) public law litigator. Duties will include working closely with public agency clients, reviewing and drafting contracts in all areas, handling daily municipal law questions, assisting with drafting council meeting agendas and opinion memoranda. Attorney will work in a fast paced, but exciting environment. Must have excellent research and writing skills, organizational skills, communication skills and knowledge of Brown Act. Prior experience in employment and civil rights matters a plus.

The Salary for this position will range between $125k-$150k. Salary and benefits commensurate with level of experience and demonstrated accomplishments.
