Rick Olivarez Presents 2024 NALEO Award for Outstanding Public Service

On September 24, 2024, OMLO Managing Partner Rick R. Olivarez proudly presented the 2024 Edward R. Roybal Award for Outstanding Public Service to United States Senator Catherine Cortez Masto of Nevada. The award is a highlight of the National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials (NALEO) 2024 Edward R. Roybal Legacy Celebration, and recognizes Senator Cortez Masto for her years of public service, as Nevada’s Attorney General from 2007 – 2015, and as the first woman from Nevada and first Latina elected to the United States Senate, where she has served since 2017.

From NALEO: “We acknowledge Senator Cortez Mastos’ commitment to public service and her dedication to ensuring the safety, well-being, and progress of the Latino community. Cortez Masto was the first Latina elected to the U.S. Senate. She currently serves on the Senate Committees on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs, Finance, and Energy and Natural Resources and has also served as Nevada’s Attorney General.”

“Established in 1996 and presented annually, this award honors individuals who have distinguished themselves as devoted public servants to the nation and pays tribute to the organization’s founder and President Emeritus, the late Congressman Edward R. Roybal.”
