On April 9, 2014, OM associate Elliot Field volunteered to serve as a judge for Loyola Law School’s first year students’ oral argument exercise. Organized by Legal Writing Program Director and Clinical Professor Cindy Archer, Elliot presided over three sets of arguments where first year law students were provided a platform to practice their oral advocacy skills. Each student argued their respective client’s position surrounding a Fair Housing Act dispute between a landlord and evicted tenant, and Elliot queried students regarding their application of relevant case law to the facts involving each advocate’s client.
