OMLO is proud to share that the City of El Monte and OutFront Media have partnered to honor late OMLO attorney David F. Gondek with a month-long electronic billboard display on Peck Road in El Monte. Dave was an inspiration to many, known for his rigorous work ethic combined with a loyalty, dedication, and commitment to community. His sudden passing in October 2020 left a huge void for us all. While serving the City of El Monte for many years, Dave also worked in private practice serving other cities and public clients and was instrumental in facilitating and overseeing notable affordable housing, redevelopment, and land use projects. During his years as City Attorney, Deputy City Attorney, Senior Deputy City Attorney, and Redevelopment Agency General Counsel, Dave helped guide El Monte in many areas of municipal law, including community and economic development, public works, police power regulation, finance and contract administration, and code enforcement.
Dave worked tirelessly on effectuating the conversion from a static to electronic billboard display at 3340 Peck Road in El Monte. In collaboration with Dave’s family and the City of El Monte, the billboard will display a tribute to Dave beginning February 24, 2021, and run for 30 days. The display, previewed below, recognizes Dave’s commitment to the City, and his drive to make it a better place through development and growth.
