Los Angeles and San Francisco Daily Journal Names OMLO to 2021 “Top Boutiques” List

The firm is pleased to announce that prestigious legal publication the Los Angeles and San Francisco Daily Journal has named OMLO to its annual list of “Top Boutiques.” Each year, the coveted list profiles the leading specialty firms in California with a large portfolio of complex and impactful matters. OMLO is one of only twenty law firms honored in the 2021 issue, and is the only firm recognized for public entity law.

OMLO’s profile in the Daily Journal’s special issue highlights the firm’s hiring philosophy of “hire great people first and good lawyers second,” and covers the firm’s recent wins in Smith v. Regents of the University of California and the Antelope Valley Groundwater cases. Additionally, the profile delves into the story of Rick Olivarez’s successful founding of the firm in 2010 after leaving another firm, hoping to become the “‘Jerry Maguire” of lawyers through his dedication to ethics and clients.

“I felt there was an opportunity to do the kind of work that I was doing at the other firm, which was mostly public entity work, but in a way that I felt was more ethical, and really supported the elected officials, particularly the new ones, because there are so many rules and other types of pitfalls that they have to be aware of,” said Rick.
