Congratulations to Thomas M. Madruga and Elliot R. Field who argued successfully for Summary Judgment in the matter of Kaye E. Burnside v. Compton Unified School District, et al., thus ending the case. The plaintiff filed her complaint in 2011 alleging breach of her employment contract, age, sex, and gender discrimination as well as retaliation and harassment. The District argued that plaintiff used her District-issued credit card for personal purchases and was therefore terminated and that her claims of sexual harassment were time barred. Plaintiff sought $4,070,000 in damages but received nothing following the granting of summary judgment. Well done Tom and Elliot!
