Rick R. Olivarez, OMLO’s founding and managing partner, will be in attendance at the National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials’ (“NALEO”) 40th Annual Conference in New York City taking place July 11-13, 2023. Rick will be joined by Susie Altamirano, Stephanie Vasquez, Stephanie Arechiga, and Paloma Perez-McEvoy.
As city attorney to cities throughout California, Rick advises on all aspects of municipal law including, but not limited to, the Public Records Act, public contracts, Brown Act, litigation, economic development, construction law, and ethics. He also serves as general counsel to a number of school districts and community colleges. In this role, Rick advises the governing bodies on various legal matters involving workplace harassment, construction, employment, and conflict of interest.
NALEO’s Annual Conference is unlike any other professional development gathering for elected and appointed officials – featuring dynamic plenaries with prominent national leaders to catalyze substantive policy conversations and valuable strategic networking opportunities. The Conference also provides a venue for the meaningful exchange of ideas and solutions to today’s most pressing policy issues including the economy, education, workforce development, emergency preparedness and securing critical infrastructure.
