The firm is pleased to congratulate founding and managing partner Rick R. Olivarez on his inclusion in the Los Angeles Business Journal’s “Leaders of Influence: Minority Attorneys” list for 2022. This prestigious list recognizes the significant professional achievements of outstanding minority attorneys in the Los Angeles region who happen to be from a broad cultural spectrum. Those selected for inclusion are considered to be particularly impactful on the legal scene, while serving as trusted advisors, along with maintaining the highest professional and ethical standards.
Each year, the Business Journal’s special issue honors these leaders of influence by highlighting their milestones and notable contributions to the Los Angeles business community. The issue’s profile of Rick highlights his decision to establish his own firm, as well as his extensive experience providing essential legal services to municipal, education, and public agency clients. Rick’s selection to the list was also predicated on his deep involvement in the community, including his position on the Educational Fund Board of the National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials (NALEO). The NALEO Board was founded by his grandfather, late Congressman Edward R. Roybal, whose legacy lives on in the leadership of Rick’s mother, Congresswoman Lucille Roybal-Allard. In addition, he sits on the Board of Directors for Homeboy Industries, which provides training and support to individuals who were formerly gang-involved and incarcerated; HONOR PAC, which supports Latinx LGBTQ+ candidates for political office; and PCI Media, a nonprofit that combines storytelling and technology for social change.
