Professional Experience

Christine Hsu is a Partner with Olivarez Madruga Law Organization LLP. She heads the firm’s Education Law practice group and serves as general counsel for school districts. Ms. Hsu’s areas of practice include all aspects of labor and employment law, governance, and general education matters. Ms. Hsu has presented numerous workshops and training sessions for school districts and professional organizations on topics including ethics, conflicts of interest, the California Public Records Act, the Brown Act, student records, employee evaluation and discipline, and discrimination and harassment prevention. Ms. Hsu is also experienced in advising law enforcement agencies for both cities and school districts, including advising on disciplinary matters and Pitchess discovery motions. Ms. Hsu has litigation experience as a former prosecutor, both at the trial and appellate level, successfully winning both bench and jury trials, and defending appeals in the Third and Fifth Appellate Districts of California. She also served as an extern to the Honorable Terry J. Hatter, Jr., Senior United States District Court, Central District of California.
