Economic Development Attorney
Olivarez Madruga Lemieux O’Neill is seeking an economic development attorney with a minimum of 7 years of legal practice, including a minimum of 5 years representing public agencies. Legal experience should include the areas of land use and zoning, real estate development agreements, including CEQA, municipal code compliance and enforcement, public contracting/bidding, Brown Act and Public Records Act, and Proposition 218. Attorney shall work closely with public agency staff, draft and review resolutions, ordinances, contracts and other transactional documents, perform legal research on a range of public law topics, and prepare legal memoranda advising clients. Candidates must possess excellent research, writing, organizational, and communication skills. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to work both cooperatively with others and independently, as circumstances demand, and must show a strong ability to take initiative and problem solve. Litigation experience is a preferred and participation in evening meetings may be required. Salary and benefits will be competitive and commensurate with level of experience and demonstrated accomplishments.
