Blanca Pacheco is an Associate with Olivarez Madruga Lemieux O’Neill, LLP, serving as part of the firm’s Municipal Law practice group. Ms. Pacheco received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California Los Angeles and her Juris Doctor from Loyola Law School. Prior to joining Olivarez Madruga Lemieux O’Neill, LLP, Ms. Pacheco began her legal career at a Criminal Defense Law firm. Ms. Pacheco continued her legal career as an estate-planning attorney for a little over thirteen years. In 2016, Ms. Pacheco was elected to the Downey City Council and was sworn in as Mayor of Downey on December 10, 2019, becoming the first Latina to serve on the city council and as Mayor.
As a further testament to Ms. Pacheco’s commitment to her community, she is also a member of several service organizations. She is a member of the Southeast District Bar Association. She is a member of the Kiwanis Club of Downey, where she enjoys serving the children in the community through leadership training, fundraising events, and scholarships. She served a term as President for her Kiwanis Club from 2014-15, and in doing so, received the Distinguished President’s award. She is a member of Gangs Out of Downey (GOOD), a service organization committed to providing gang prevention programs for the youth. Ms. Pacheco is also a member of the Elks Lodge in Downey. Ms. Pacheco’s passion for serving her community was recognized in 2016 when she received the City of Downey’s “Woman of the Year” award from Assemblywoman Cristina Garcia. In her spare time, Ms. Pacheco enjoys spending quality time with her two favorite dogs, Mr. Belvedere and Jackson.
