Norma D. Tabares is Senior Counsel with Olivarez Madruga Law Organization LLP. Ms. Tabares represents public entities as a member of the firm’s municipal law practice group. She is responsible for day-to-day advisory and transactional matters. She advises clients in various areas concerning municipal government, with an emphasis on planning and land use, housing, bidding and contracting, ethics and elections laws. She also advises clients on application of the Brown Act, Public Records Act, Political Reform Act and conflict of interest laws. Ms. Tabares is highly skilled at negotiating and drafting contracts and service agreements and drafting and amending ordinances and resolutions. She currently serves as assistant city attorney for several municipalities.
Ms. Tabares has over 20 years of multi-faceted experience in the public and private sectors. Previously, she served as real estate and corporate counsel in private practice. Most recently, she served as a nonprofit executive, specializing in philanthropy and organizational development.
